20 things to do at the Rand Show

Planning a trip to Johannesburg's oldest expo? See the best things to do at the Rand Show.

The Rand Show has been a part of Johannesburg ever since I can remember. My earliest memory of the show is when I was around 6 years old. I went with my aunt and I was so excited when she bought me a helium balloon. But I didn’t hold it tightly enough and it soared upwards. I watched it fly higher and higher into the sky, tearfully, until I couldn’t see it anymore.Rand Show

The Rand Show is celebrating its 125th year in 2019! It is only eight years younger than Johannesburg, which was founded in 1886.  In the early years though, it was more of an agricultural show.  Now, it is known for its entertainment, exhibitions and shopping.

This recent introduction to the Rand Show has been specifically introduced to attract the younger generation to the show, although the young at heart are also welcomed, of course.
