Bangkok is a vibrant, bustling city, and a vast, sprawling metropolis. It has an infectious energy that draws one in. There is so much to do here that I’d recommend staying for at least a week. However, where you stay in Bangkok has a huge impact on your experience there.
After spending all day exploring in Bangkok’s tropical heat, it helps to have a peaceful sanctuary to retreat to and rejuvenate. And that is exactly what Somerset Park Suanplu was.
Somerset Park Suanplu Bangkok is a serviced residence in the very heart of the metropolis. It lies in a quiet tree-lined street, populated by apartments and international embassies. A complimentary tuk-tuk service will take guests from the residence to the nearest Skytrain station, just ten minutes away. The residence is also within walking distance to the renowned shopping and eating areas on Sukhomvit and Silom roads.
There are 235 residences consisting of one, two and three bedroomed options as well as penthouses, to suit different requirements. The apartments are spacious and modern. Our suite had two comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lounge area with a work-station, a dining area and a fully-equipped kitchenette.
Full-length glass sliding doors led onto a balcony with expansive views of Bangkok.
Best of all, we had a washing machine and a tumble dryer – washing powder provided - which saved us the trouble of having to visit laundromats. Other room amenities included a television connected to a CD and DVD player, an iron and ironing board, and a workstation. Wi-Fi connectivity and complimentary housekeeping services were also available.
Somerset guests have access to the many facilities in the building, which include a beautiful swimming pool, a gymnasium, tennis courts, a small library, an indoor playroom for the children and an on-site day spa. The tour desk will help arrange transport and tours. A mini-market caters for guests who want to cook their own food and kids with cravings for candy and chips. There are beautiful gardens on the ground level where one can relax in while waiting for taxis or after coming back from a walk. The gardens have serene water features, seating areas and an outdoor playground for the kids.
We enjoyed a daily buffet breakfast at Panya Restaurant. There was a choice of Thai and international dishes. Breakfast started at 6 am so we could eat before leaving on our early morning tours with "Thai Trips".
This was the perfect solution for a family vacation in Bangkok. It is also suitable for business travelers and couples. The size of the apartment and the furnishings make it perfect for extended stays too and there are special rates for long term stays.
Somerset Park Suanplu is one of a premier collection of The Ascott Limited's serviced residences in 100 cities around the world. I will definitely consider them when travelling to Bangkok again or to any of their other locations. They are more spacious, comfortable and convenient when staying with kids, especially for longer stays.

Looks lovely & quite peaceful. I once flew through Bangkok but only had 4 hrs which I was told wasn't enought time to see anything. I do hope to get back there someday so this is very helpful.
Omg what a lovely hotel!!!!! I have never been to Bangkok but definitely know where to stay now thanks to this!
This looks like a great place to stay while in Bangkok. We will check it out when planning our trip next year.
Does it make me really sad that I was really excited about the washing machine and tumble dryer? haha nothing better than coming home with clean clothes. This looks like such a beautiful place to visit, we are currently looking at where to take our family holiday and this is now a contender
Wow - it looks so calm and peaceful - you'd never guess that its in the middle of Bangkok! And tennis courts on the roof - that looks amazing!
Love the washer and dryer in the room!! Traveling with kids that would be a huge thing for us to have in the room, everything looks amazing!
What a beautiful spot! I love those views and the room is so neat and nice! I'm hoping to visit bangkok this year with my husband.
Bangkok is really what I want to visit this year! That place has a lot of unique culture and stunning spot.
This looks beautiful! I haven't yet been to Bangkok, but I am planning to spend some time traveling around Asia this summer! I am bookmarking this page for reference for accommodation later on! Thanks so much for sharing, this is great 🙂
What a nice place to stay in! I loved Bangkok and while the city has many to offer, I do agree that the place where you stay in could have a huge impact. Now you're making me miss Bangkok!
This place looks heavenly! I love that pool!
Somerset Park Suanplu looks beautiful! Ugh it's making me want to travel so bad. Great photos. 🙂
Wow! This looks beautiful! I love the pool area. It looks so peaceful!
This accommodation looks perfect for a family stay! I love to have an apartment with separate bedrooms rather than a simple hotel room, not to mention the extra's like a washing machine, which is a must when traveling with kids for a longer period. Thanks for sharing. Bookmarking this for when we finally get to Thailand.
Thanks Jurga. I know that you understand because you travel with kids too. The more space the better. And my washing machine is the one thing I miss the most when travelling 🙂 So this accommodation was perfect.
