I created the “Travellers’ Tales” section to give other travellers an opportunity to talk about their travels. Today I would like to introduce you to Anwesha , a travel blogger based in Bangalore, India . She blogs at Going Places With Anwesha.
I would love to hear about your travels too. Go to “Travellers’ Tales” , fill in the quick questionnaire and email it to me with your blog links.
I am an IT techie and travel blogger, currently staying in Bangalore for the past four years due to work but originally from Kolkata.
My earliest travel memories include a lot of beautiful spots in and around Northeast Indian states as my father was posted in a lot of places there during my growing years. I remember a hilarious moment in Chirapunji where I started dancing in the middle of the open car parking lot to a very popular song at the time - in front of everyone. To this day I love hearing about it from my parents.
My last holiday was a short weekend in Goa with my husband. I had to cut it short due to some urgent work back in my office but oh boy, it was a magical weekend in Goa. Since it was my first visit, I felt that I needed to cover as much as possible and planned my days accordingly. But in the end, I just let go of my plans and settled on a cosy chair in one of the beaches in South Goa, mesmerized by the most amazing sunset I ever witnessed.
One of the best things that happened during our trip was an evening cruise over the Mandovi River. We were just in time to catch a beautiful sunset from the ship and the one-hour ride was filled with entertainment from live music and dancers.
My best holiday to date is my first international trip to Mauritius. This trip was special in many ways because we chose Mauritius to spend our honeymoon in a quiet yet exciting way. My husband and I both love traveling and Mauritius seemed like a perfect choice for us not only because of its pristine beaches but also for its culture and flora-fauna. We absolutely loved visiting the Casela Nature park and had a once-in-a-lifetime experience in a submarine safari.
I love beaches and never get tired of them. This year, I did a back-to-back trip to the beaches in Sri Lanka and Goa and not even for one second did I feel bored. In fact, I want to go back to the Southern coast of Sri Lanka soon.
Scuba diving is a must in Sri Lanka/Goa.
My favourite travel companion is my husband with whom I love to explore new places and enjoy new experiences. I feel that my husband shares the same love for travelling as I do which makes our frequent travels possible in the midst of our busy lives.
A first-aid kit which contains all types of medicines needed for any unexpected situation is a must. Apart from that, I would say travel insurance is a must for out-of-country trips.
I would suggest that you pack lightly, carry only the absolute essentials and always pack a scarf or two for visiting temples or religious places.
Paris! I want to visit Paris and spend some quality time near the Eiffel Tower before I die - or reach a stage in my life where I cannot move around much. Then I want to look at those photos and remember my wonderful days in Paris.
